Thanksgiving comes late this year. That means less time to enjoy Christmas. Who wants to wait? Organizers of the Tulsa Winterfest 2019 don’t want to, that’s for sure. They start up the Christmas cheer this weekend in downtown Tulsa!

Tulsa Winterfest 2019
That’s right. Starting this Saturday, downtown Tulsa turns into a winter wonderland. Opening day festivities being at 12 pm on November 23rd. The Winterfest train accepts passengers for free from noon to 3 pm. Santa comes in to listen to live music with everyone else at 5 pm. And the capper of opening day? Fireworks at 7 pm!
Every Monday is Canned Food Monday. Bring in non-perishable food and skate for half price that day. All food donations go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Wednesdays are Warmth Wednesdays. Bring a gently used coat, blanket, scarf and/or pair of gloves/mittens and skate for half off regular admission that day. All warm weather items collected during Winterfest benefit the folks at Night Light Tulsa.

Ice Skating
Who needs Rockefeller Center when you can ice skate right here in Tulsa? For 44 days, the public gets to skate on 9000 square feet of real ice in the heart of downtown Tulsa. No skates? No problem. Rentals come with the price of admission. General admission runs $12 per person for adults, $8 for kids aged 3 or under. If you bring your own skates, pay just $8 for a general admission ticket. Going to a show at BOK Center? Show your ticket for a discounted $8 admission (includes skates). Oilers fan? Wear your shirt and you also get in for just $8.
Arvest customers pay just $6 per person. Must show proof that you’re a customer (credit card, debit card, check, app, etc). Cox customers get in for $6 per person on Sundays when you show your Cox Contour app at the box office. Discounted rates available for groups of 10 or more but you must pay at least 24 hours in advance. Contact the BOK Center for more information.
Breakfast with Santa
One of the highlights of Winterfest each year is Breakfast with Santa. On Saturday, December 14th, Santa agreed to take a break from his busy North Pole schedule to come to Tulsa for a visit. Choose from two different sessions: 9 am to 10:30 am and 11 am to 12:30 pm. (Click on the time you prefer to visit the online ticket site). It costs just $15 per child. Kids under who sit on their parent’s lap get in free. However, if you want them to have their own seat, you must purchase a ticket. Seating is limited. So, purchase your tickets soon.
