On September 18, from 9am to 11:30am at Linnaeus Teaching Garden little ones will be reaping the benefits of the Children’s Teaching Garden as they harvest cucumbers to make dill pickles and tomatoes for yummy salsa. Children will make a sachet bag and wreath magnet for gifts using plants from the garden. Other activities include: learning about fall gardening and preparing the garden for winter, story time, sketch book autograph party. Snack time will include watermelon from the garden. 2010 Citywide Block Party

Every year the City of Tulsa has a citywide Block Party Day. These block parties provide a good way to get together and meet your neighbors. Block parties can vary from elaborate celebrations complete with children’s activities to small picnics. The Department of Working in Neighborhoods can arrange for visits from the Tulsa Fire Department and the Tulsa Police Department, and provide barricades to block your street during the party.
