Before & After: A Springlike Makeover in Green and White
Country Living
This kitchen remodel shows off one of our favorite tricks in making a kitchen look bigger. It also happens to make the kitchen much more functional. Do you know what it is? We talked about it here, too.
If you look at the before pictures, you can see how the cabinets didn’t go all the way up to the ceiling. Unlike in a lot of kitchens, it wasn’t just empty space up there (where dust bunnies live, breed, and grow into dust rabbits). It looks like the wall just extended above the cabinets.
The new cabinets offer more storage and make the room feel much larger, in our opinion. Same goes for the cabinet that was built around the refrigerator. How practical is that? And it adds so much usable space, including a wall for a bulletin board.
We also love the wide drawers below the glass-front cabinets. They, too, give the room a gracious, open feel, more so than a ton of small doors and knobs.
