Bacon, oh boy, bacon! No longer just a simple breakfast food, this mouth-watering meat is now in a class all its own – and one with a cult-like following! From fast food to gourmet, and savory to sweet, this delicious delicacy can be found everywhere.
America’s new love affair with bacon is what inspired the Baconfest movement, and we are bringing this unique, and delicious experience to hundreds of bacon-loving Tulsans, at the first annual Baconfest Tulsa, on Sunday September 29th, 2013!
Bacon Festival Tulsa is an outdoor event that will feature small plates and tastes of bacon-based cuisine, sweets, and beverages from some of Tulsa’s finest (and most creative) chefs, bakers, and baristas, all competing for the title of Boss Hog of BaconFest Tulsa 2013!
Along with their all-inclusive tasting pass, guests will receive goodie bags filled with vendor specials, recipes and bacon-themed swag. Guests will also compete for titles and prizes of their own in our amateur bacon cooking contest, bacon haiku contest, and bacon look-a-like contest yes, we said bacon look-a-like contest.
Best of all, Bacon Fest is a benefit! Sponsorships and entry fees go towards much needed capital improvements for one of Tulsa’s most dynamic independent arts organizations, the Nightingale Theater and Midwestern Theater Troupe. For over a decade, the Nightingale Theater, a 501-(c) (3) non-profit arts facility, has provided Tulsa’s only independent theater venue – a unique, vital, and indispensable local resource for theater arts.
