Henri Matisse once said, “creativity takes courage”. Ralph Waldo Emerson proclaimed that every artist was first an amateur”. And, of course, Bob Ross insisted with a smile that “we don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents”. Art provides a welcome place to both inform and entertain. It’s an important part of forming a well-rounded individual. Support the arts by attending the First Friday Art Crawl in Tulsa tomorrow.

First Friday Art Crawl in Tulsa
On the first Friday of each month year-round, art galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, and boutiques stay open late to cater to the First Friday Art Crawl crowd in Downtown Tulsa. Most galleries and museums allow free entrance to First Friday patrons. However, some may charge a reduced fee to enter.
Organizers invite you to walk from gallery to gallery to view the latest creations by local artists. The works are as diverse as the artists that create them. But don’t stick strictly to the brick and mortar buildings. Some artists set up booths in between the buildings. Make sure you look up when you pass the buildings, too. You’re sure to spot some amazing murals created by the very talent we try to cultivate here in Tulsa.
We celebrate all art forms at the First Friday events. That includes visual as well as auditory mediums. Each month features a new musical talent. For August’s event, Katy Bruce with Tarot and the Gems and Prism Portal perform at Soundpony on Main. But they aren’t the only amazing artists performing tomorrow. If you’d like to see the line-up for future First Friday events, please visit the Tulsa Arts District’s website here.
