This post is so true, regardless of where your sanctuary might be! Lori
As I sit out here on the deck early in the morning, watching a light mist roll over the landscaping, I am inspired to declare that this is a fine place to reside!
And while I am not on the beach in Waikiki nor gazing over my beloved Smoky Mountains, there is no other place that I’d rather be right now.
And while my “estate in land” may seem to be run-of-the-mill or ordinary by most established standards, it is home to me, and that makes it a place unlike no other on the planet.
My home is my refuge and my sanctuary. And although it is modest in scope and lies in a densely populated area, it is a million miles away from the trials and tribulations of the outside world. It’s a place to recharge the internal batteries of the soul in preparation for each new day.
There is an intrinsic value to home ownership that is impossible to define in words or dollars. The place where I live is NOT an investment; it is the fountainhead from which my life flows out into the mainstream, ready to face another day in paradise.
And HOW do you put a dollar value on that?
