Oklahoma’s favorite marathon and half marathon are back for the eighth year on November 23-24, 2013. The Williams Route 66 Marathon presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma includes not only the marathon and half marathon, but also a marathon relay, 5K run and walk, a fun run and walk and a mascot dash.
Participants from all 50 states, many foreign countries and every corner of Oklahoma enjoy the beautiful course that winds its way through many of Tulsa’s most beautiful districts. This year’s course will finish in the Brady Arts District at Guthrie Green and will feature the ever-popular Center of the Universe Detour on the marathon course.
Also new this year, every finisher in all races will receive a gorgeous finisher medal, something the Williams Route 66 Marathon is known for nationwide. To register to become a volunteer, please visit www.route66marathon.com.
Registration for all races closes Sunday Night.
Half Marathon at 99%, Marathon at 97%
As of today, 2013 Williams Route 66 half marathon is 99 percent full with fewer than 100 entries and the marathon is at 97 percent with just over 100 entries remaining. If you have not registered for the marathon or half marathon, these are you final days to do so. When these races reach capacity, that’s it.
Registration closes closes at midnight on Sunday, November 18th for any races that don’t sell out sooner. Registration will not be available on race day or at the expo. You must register online before midnight Sunday November 18th.
Visit the web site to see the course maps and road closure times. Getting in and out of our neighborhoods will be a challenge during the run, so plan your appointments accordingly.
