Some Prep Early for Winter Storm
Steve Berg
(Tulsa, OK) – Some Tulsans were wisely preparing early for what is expected to be a major winter storm starting overnight Wednesday and intensifying throughout the day on Thursday.
Vince Mattes left about 30 minutes early for work on Wednesday morning, so he could do some last minute shopping at a south Tulsa store. He says he learned his lesson during the 2007 ice storm.
"Have Plan ‘B’," he said. "Have a generator on hand with electricity, propane bottles for the camping stove to cook meals and that sort of thing."
Dave Steinhoff, meanwhile, was frustrated by the lack of particular supplies that he needed.
"No more batteries for your large lanterns and only a few lanterns left at all," he said. "So any supplies that you might need, better start looking."
He advised that people give themselves enough time to shop at several stores, in case they’re unsuccessful on their first attempt to find what they need.
